Rigger Level 2

Rigger Level 2 is the intermediate step above entry-level Level 3. A Level 2 rigger works with reduced supervision, does the calculations rather than just reading a plate, selects gear by the numbers, understands below-the-hook devices and crane limits, and checks the rigging of Level 3 riggers. This course builds on the Level 3 foundation: calculating load weight, sling leg tension and angle factors, reduction factors, selecting the correct sling, multi-leg behaviour, centre of gravity on uneven loads, spreader and lifting beams, reading a lift plan, crane load-chart awareness, wind limits, supervising a Level 3, and knowing when to escalate to Level 1, the Lifting Supervisor or the Appointed Person.
