Rigger Level 3

Rigger Level 3 is the entry level of the rigging ladder — the rigger who attaches and controls loads on site while working under supervision. This is the foundation course of the IES rigging suite. It teaches you to recognise and reject rigging gear, read a Working Load Limit, choose the right hitch, keep sling angles safe, protect slings from edges, keep the hook over the centre of gravity, know the load weight, use tag lines and crane signals, keep people clear of suspended loads, and — above all — know your limits and when to call a higher level. The rigging ladder runs Level 3 (entry) → Level 2 → Level 1 → Lifting Supervisor → Appointed Person. Framework: OSHA 29 CFR 1926 Subpart CC & 1926.251, ASME B30 series, and site rigging practice.
