Rigger Level 1

Rigger Level 1 is the most experienced rigger — the person who executes and leads the difficult rigging, mentors Level 2 and Level 3, and contributes rigging expertise to the lift plan. A Level 1 rigger still works under the Lifting Supervisor and the Appointed Person: the Appointed Person plans the lift, the Supervisor runs it, and the Level 1 rigger leads the rigging crew. This advanced course covers complex loads and centre-of-gravity confirmation, equalizing versus non-equalizing systems, matched slings and reeving, upending and turning loads, tandem and multi-crane lifts, what makes a lift critical and its extra controls, dynamic effects and wind at height, input to the lift plan, ground bearing and crane stability, leading communication, and emergency response. Framework: OSHA 29 CFR 1926 Subpart CC & 1926.251, ASME B30 series, and site rigging practice.
